The Kingsman Secret Service

Bar fight scene:

The sounds in the clip are dramatic and at times there are also some heroic sounds because it is required for the effect that it makes. This effect is of something or someone that is either becoming dramatic or heroic. An Example is shown when the group of boys that come inside the pub to look for trouble. The sound begins with a tension with in its tune. It then moves onto a sounds that starts to fade into a dramatic sound, this then creates a dramatic irony because the soundtrack suggests that an unsuspecting character is in imminent danger. Another effect this creates is Realism, it sorts of puts the audience on their feet making them feel the suspense that is being presented at that time. Like here when Colin Firth who plays Harry starts to look up the doors and turns his head towards the group of boys. This creates a suspense for the audience making them think whats going to happen.  Diegetic sound is sound that is naturally hearable in the scene. From watching The Kingsman I can say that the diegetic sound I heard was when the spy slammed and bolted the door. The effect of this is that it made the audience feel like we were trapped in and it created tensions for the antagonists as they have no were to escape.

There is a lot of Mise En Scene in this scene in particularly and they are Umbrellas, Sticks and Glass bottles. The use of these objects are to create a tension for the audience and this is done perfectly for some of the scenes in the Kingsman. There is an older middle aged man with a umbrella with him and this man uses his umbrella as a weapon and it isn't just a weapon its a special effect umbrella which has all sorts of powers. It also reflects back to the fact that he is working for a secret agent and so only he has the special effect umbrella. The use of these props during the scene creates tension because it makes the audience feel terrified as to what will happen because it doesn't really seem as if the man will do anything but when he reaches his umbrella the tension is thrown dramatically at the audience because they didn't expect it.

When watching Kingsman Secret Service I picked up on some dialogue which was: “you should get out of here grandpa”, “beef” and “Are we going to stand around here all day or are we going to fight”? The effect of this is that at first it was calm when the antagonists were talking to the protagonist however it shortly turn into disrespect when one of the antagonists said “you should get out of here grandpa” this is disrespect as the protagonist is about mid 40’s but the antagonists disrespect him by exaggerating his age and mocking it.
